YOUNG’S MARKET COMPANY ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT HAROLD McGOVERN

Young's Market Company announced today the appointment of Harold McGovern to the newly created position of Executive Vice President/Northwest and will be reporting directly to Chris Underwood, CEO. In his new role with Young's, Mr. McGovern will oversee all facets of Young's wine and spirits business in the states of Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, and Montana. Dan Ewer will continue in his role of overseeing our wine business as Sr. Vice President Wine/Northwest and reporting to Dan will be Adam Pizer (Vice President Estates Group Oregon and Washington). Dan Ewer will be reporting to Mr. McGovern.
Reporting to Mr. McGovern will also be Chris Sarles (General Manager/Oregon), Tom Kappenman (General Manager/Washington), Don Grasse (President of Young's Market Company of Alaska), Dodds Hayden (President of Young's Market Company of Idaho), Jay Nelson (Vice President Oregon Spirits Brokerage), Dave Engen (Vice President Mountain States Wine Brokerage), Phil Giordano (Vice President Utah and Idaho Spirits Brokerage), and Brett Wiensch (Vice President Montana and Wyoming Spirits Brokerage).
Mr. McGovern is scheduled to start in his new position with Young's on July 16, 2012. He will be relocating his family to Seattle in the weeks and months ahead.
Prior to joining Young's, Mr. McGovern was President of NWS Michigan, Inc., the largest spirits distributor in the State of Michigan. Prior to joining NWS in 2005, Mr. McGovern served as Diageo's Metro New York Market Manager, Diageo's Midwest Regional Vice President, Diageo's Western (US) Director of Trade Marketing and Diageo's Southeast (Miami) Director of Trade Marketing Sales. Prior to that Mr. McGovern was with Gallo Winery.
In commenting on the appointment, Chris Underwood, the CEO of Young's Market Company said: "We are pleased that Harold has agreed to lead our team in the Northwest.
